Part 1 - TAMING THE GREEN BEAST. This portion of the workshop will give you a great foundational understanding of shooting on a green screen, and enable you to expand your creative horizons and client offerings. Topics covered are:

 What makes a good green screen set up. (i.e. Light and camera quality )
 How to light a green screen. (i.e. How exposure can effect the quality of green screen color) 
How to capture green screen content in camera. (i.e. how things like shutter speed can effect quality)
How to effectively key green screen footage including troubleshooting issues.
 Compositing tricks to make your keyed footage fit with your background.

Jeff Carpenter is a commercial portrait and headshot photographer, educator, and owner of Readylight Media, a visual media and marketing agency based outside of Nashville, TN. He started his photography career in 2010, shortly after college where he was required to take a photography class in order to graduate. Being a predominantly self-taught photographer, he developed a passion for educating in a way that was simple and easy to understand. Jeff has worked with brands like Panasonic Lumix, Tether Tools, Paul C. Buff, and V-Flat World just to name a few. This workshop is divided into two parts. Part 1 - THE DETAILS will teach you basic off-camera flash techniques and lens selection for photographing reception details beautifully and efficiently in a dark venue. This will cover how to photograph a table setting and the wedding cake in an elegant way in a dark venue using one off-camera flash. The workshop will include a live demonstration and lots of time for hands-on practice, experimentation and questions, and help you to feel more confident about photographing a reception table and cake in a dark venue using one off-camera flash. 

Workshop attendees will also receive a quick-reference PDF guide of reception lighting setups covered in this section.

Part 2 - THE PEOPLE will go more in-depth with reception lighting, using multiple-light off-camera flash techniques for photographing the wedding couple’s first dance, cake cutting, toasts, and reception details in a flattering, elegant way in a dark venue.

This workshop will include an actual reception setup with decorated tables, a wedding cake, a dance floor, and a bride and groom model. It will include demonstrations of a one-light setup and a two- and three-light setup for reception events.
